Aims of the Programme
The MPA aims to equip students with an ability to deploy skills and understanding in a range of contemporary issues surrounding the applications of public administration, through techniques of critical analysis, reflection and evaluation, complying with the pronounced educational long term goals of Zambia that focus on the development of individual learners in holistic manner that address their developmental needs, affective and psychomotor skills.
Moreover, equally important aims are the promotion of clarity of thought, knowledge of the possibility and limits of application public administration in local and international work
environments, the capacity to explore issues, and present positions, in a structured and methodical way as well as the capacity to recognise and accommodate insights from a variety of
sources. In other words, the meaningful acquisition of relevant skills and knowledge to enable students to meet challenges and lead individual fruitful lives, while empowering them to

The MPA is a contribution in the attempt to reinforce and enhance the ‘weak decentralised administrative and fiscal system of governance’ (7th NDP, p. 96), as the programme invests
in students, enhancing the quality and future of the human resources and capital of Zambia, by developing their knowledge and skills needed for successful and strategic, local oriented
leadership performance, within the context of the 7th National Development Plan and the SADC Protocol on Education and Training.
The programme is in compliance with section 10.4, ‘Development Outcome 2: Improved education and skills development’ of the 7th NDP, and the ‘Professional Development’
commitment in the SADC Protocol on Education and Training, as it offers access to professional, high quality, equitable, inclusive and improved education, as well as skills

Students must defend their dissertation in a "viva voce" (oral) examination which can be completed online. and legal concepts. They will gain profound knowledge of litigation and law application and
procedures in order to operate, with the adequate proficiency, in positions of Law enforcement
and practice.

Rationale
Students will acquire a first degree in law, which would allow them to be admitted to the legal
profession or to work as a legal consultant by developing skills and abilities pertinent to a
lawyer, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, self-motivation and specialised knowledge
of the law.

The aims of the programme are the following:
1. To provide sufficient knowledge and skills to the students in the field of Law.
2. To enable graduates of the programme to be employed in fields relevant to the legal
profession such as advocates, judges, notaries, legal consultants, private and public

On completion of the programme the students should:

The Unicaf University Malawi PhD in Information Technology is an integrated programme awarded on the basis of a research dissertation (240 credits) and also incorporates a preparatory taught element (120 credits) that provides students with the necessary tools to undertake their research, appreciate current research issues in the field of Information Technology, and assume future leadership roles in their respective institutions. The aim is to maximise students’ skills and knowledge in areas of Construction and Engineering, such as Project Management, Information Communication Technology, Construction Law, Supply chain Management, Procurement and to develop a critical awareness of the issues and challenges in Construction Engineering Management.

Designed to develop knowledge and research skills in Data Science, an understanding of the ecology within which a Data Scientist operates and professional skills in Data Science techniques, the programme also fosters reflective and analytic approaches in work-based practice and research.

Course Summary

Law is taught from a range of perspectives, based on the finest traditions of legal education and recent innovations for the 21st century. Our approach is to examine law well beyond basic legal rules and legal institutions, taking account of wider contexts and discourses that allow deeper understanding of law in society. With this approach, the University of Suffolk provides students with a firm grounding in the subject of law and the contexts in which law functions. Equally important is the breadth and depth of education that this subject facilitates. Students will be equipped to take on challenging questions about law and related issues, and to apply their knowledge and skills in a variety of contexts. This ethos runs right through all subjects in the law curriculum, which includes a number of modules specifically designed to provide opportunities to apply your knowledge and skills in different contexts.

This course places emphasis on the use of law to solve problems. With this in mind, teaching and learning on this course is designed to encourage the development of strong legal and problem-solving skills. In addition to engaging in legal reasoning, students also learn how to analyse the impact of law in society. Though law is often studied as a distinct subject, its methods and analytical approaches draw on fields within the humanities and the social sciences. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in the use of a wide range of legal research methods and approaches, with increasing emphasis on independent work as you progress through your course. The course also emphasises the importance of developing a range of legal and academic skills to enable students to learn, research and analyse the law as independent learners to prepare them for further study or a variety of legal careers. The BA (Hons) Business Management programme covers a broad range of management topics and is designed to give students an overview of how businesses work, and how managers can affect and improve business performance. The rationale of the programme is to enable students to gain skills in planning, organizing and monitoring healthcare organizations rather than technical skills. This programme also relies on the rational that management is related to a systematic approach of organizations in related industries therefore it is important that students understand how healthcare systems and organizations can function efficiently. Additionally, the programme is designed based on the rationale that the health care industry requires highly skilful managers while dealing with their crucial health care provision towards management of finances, organizing employees and resources in healthcare facilities, and daily general operations of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other related organizations. The program has an interdisciplinary basis, focusing on Management and Health Economics (hospital administration, human resources, total quality management, financing and planning of health services, economic evaluation), but also negotiation and basic subjects in the fields of Public Health of Epidemiology, Sociology of Health and Sanitary Engineering, designed to educate students on the wider field.

The degree program focuses on business management and finance as an area of study. Given the industrial situation in Uganda there is need to train people who can revamp the existing businesses or open new ventures in order to revive the economy.
