This Master’s programme is in compliance with Zambia’s current national strategic focus on the gradual development of higher education. Aims of the Programme
The MPA aims to equip students with an ability to deploy skills and understanding in a range of contemporary issues surrounding the applications of public administration, through techniques of critical analysis, reflection and evaluation, complying with the pronounced educational long term goals of Zambia that focus on the development of individual learners in holistic manner that address their developmental needs, affective and psychomotor skills.
Moreover, equally important aims are the promotion of clarity of thought, knowledge of the possibility and limits of application public administration in local and international work
environments, the capacity to explore issues, and present positions, in a structured and methodical way as well as the capacity to recognise and accommodate insights from a variety of
sources. In other words, the meaningful acquisition of relevant skills and knowledge to enable students to meet challenges and lead individual fruitful lives, while empowering them to

Objectives of the Programme
The MPA is a contribution in the attempt to reinforce and enhance the ‘weak decentralised administrative and fiscal system of governance’ (7th NDP, p. 96), as the programme invests
in students, enhancing the quality and future of the human resources and capital of Zambia, by developing their knowledge and skills needed for successful and strategic, local oriented
leadership performance, within the context of the 7th National Development Plan and the SADC Protocol on Education and Training.
The programme is in compliance with section 10.4, ‘Development Outcome 2: Improved education and skills development’ of the 7th NDP, and the ‘Professional Development’
commitment in the SADC Protocol on Education and Training, as it offers access to professional, high quality, equitable, inclusive and improved education, as well as skills

Each Doctoral student  must take a number of online modules and also complete a dissertation. Students must defend their dissertation in a "viva voce" (oral) examination which can be completed online. The viva voce examination is an intense and challenging experience, but we offer relevant guidance and support to help our research students prepare for this important milestone.

and legal concepts. They will gain profound knowledge of litigation and law application and
procedures in order to operate, with the adequate proficiency, in positions of Law enforcement
and practice.

Rationale
Students will acquire a first degree in law, which would allow them to be admitted to the legal
profession or to work as a legal consultant by developing skills and abilities pertinent to a
lawyer, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, self-motivation and specialised knowledge
of the law.

The aims of the programme are the following:
1. To provide sufficient knowledge and skills to the students in the field of Law.
2. To enable graduates of the programme to be employed in fields relevant to the legal
profession such as advocates, judges, notaries, legal consultants, private and public

On completion of the programme the students should:

“Surveys have strongly indicated that there are thick sediments ranging from 2500 to 3500 m… Exploration work currently being pursued by multinational firms in Malawi’s stretch of the oil rich Great African Rift Valley has unveiled high prospects for oil discovery” (Jere, 2018).
This MBA: Oil, Gas and Energy Management programme is designed to encourage national efforts towards improvement of the energy sector, and hence towards greater industrialization within Malawi.
The following press release from The Nation newspaper from October 2018 summarizes a major problem faced by the government of Malawi in its quest for development of the oil and gas sector. It is clear that a lack of trained manpower in the sector is crippling efforts to kick-start the industry.
Despite government promising to support the growth of the mining sector to become one of the main foreign exchange earners, the department tasked to look after the oil and gas sector seems to have no capacity and resources to perform, according to a recent report…
The report says technical officers at the Department of Mines do not have continuous trainings to ensure independent and competent analysis when conducting field verification visits where oil and gas companies are operating…
The report has recommended a review of the oil and gas division to allow all technical officers to access relevant training and capacity building programmes (Chirambo, 2018).

The Unicaf University Malawi PhD in Information Technology is an integrated programme awarded on the basis of a research dissertation (240 credits) and also incorporates a preparatory taught element (120 credits) that provides students with the necessary tools to undertake their research, appreciate current research issues in the field of Information Technology, and assume future leadership roles in their respective institutions. It is the field of focus of the dissertation (67% of total credits), rather than that of the taught modules (33% of total credits) which imparts the name “Information Technology” to the qualification.

The aim of the B.Ed. in Primary Education is to train new teachers to a high standard so that they may in turn teach their pupils to a high standard and positively contribute to their school and communities. This course provides a broad-based understanding of health and its social and environmental determinants with a curriculum informed by key international strategies, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Social Determinants of Health. The MSc Public Health is a challenging and rewarding programme designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to public health for students who intend to pursue careers in public  health practice, management and/or research at local, national and/or supranational levels.

The core focus of the programme is on improving the health and wellbeing of populations, preventing health problems before they occur and reducing inequalities in health. Course Summary

Law is taught from a range of perspectives, based on the finest traditions of legal education and recent innovations for the 21st century. Our approach is to examine law well beyond basic legal rules and legal institutions, taking account of wider contexts and discourses that allow deeper understanding of law in society. With this approach, the University of Suffolk provides students with a firm grounding in the subject of law and the contexts in which law functions. Equally important is the breadth and depth of education that this subject facilitates. Students will be equipped to take on challenging questions about law and related issues, and to apply their knowledge and skills in a variety of contexts. This ethos runs right through all subjects in the law curriculum, which includes a number of modules specifically designed to provide opportunities to apply your knowledge and skills in different contexts.

This course places emphasis on the use of law to solve problems. With this in mind, teaching and learning on this course is designed to encourage the development of strong legal and problem-solving skills. In addition to engaging in legal reasoning, students also learn how to analyse the impact of law in society. Though law is often studied as a distinct subject, its methods and analytical approaches draw on fields within the humanities and the social sciences. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in the use of a wide range of legal research methods and approaches, with increasing emphasis on independent work as you progress through your course. The course also emphasises the importance of developing a range of legal and academic skills to enable students to learn, research and analyse the law as independent learners to prepare them for further study or a variety of legal careers. Course Summary

The BA (Hons) Business Management programme covers a broad range of management topics and is designed to give students an overview of how businesses work, and how managers can affect and improve business performance. The modules on the programme will ensure that students develop a good understanding of basic principles, important elements of management, leadership and strategy and develop skills that will support students’ employment or further study after they graduate. 
 
The programme has been designed to support students’ future career ambitions – each module will require students to learn and apply ideas and to develop skills that will be useful to students in their future work.
