The programme aims to develop a critical understanding of complex computing application areas. Graduates are expected to be able to apply their skills in advanced topics, such as cloud computing and security aspects.

This programme is designed to help students design and develop large-scale, software systems by developing their knowledge and research skills in IT, computer vision and data analytics. Furthermore, it tackles emerging challenges in computer science, including its legal, social, ethical & professional context.

Graduates are expected to have developed the professional skills necessary for a senior career in the IT industry, as well as critical thinking and evidential reasoning, engineering judgement in the decision-making process and the ability to systematically analyse problems and implement effective solutions.

This course is designed to develop specialists in the management of multidisciplinary organisations in the construction industry, who can apply theory into practice and have the capability to work in an international environment.

The aim is to maximise students’ skills and knowledge in areas of Construction and Engineering, such as Project Management, Information Communication Technology, Construction Law, Supply chain Management, Procurement and to develop a critical awareness of the issues and challenges in Construction Engineering Management.

Designed to develop knowledge and research skills in Data Science, an understanding of the ecology within which a Data Scientist operates and professional skills in Data Science techniques, the programme also fosters reflective and analytic approaches in work-based practice and research.

Graduates are expected to be able to analyse and critically evaluate projects and research outputs in Data Science, and to have a critical understanding of the data value chain in professional settings.

The programme focuses on developing skills in the field of information security and digital forensics, through a mixture of theory, advanced practical skills and experience. It aims to develop sound knowledge and analytical abilities, which will prepare graduates for future employment at a senior level in the IT industry.

Upon successful completion of this programme, students are expected to have a critical understanding of the concepts of information security, of the procedures and techniques employed when investigating computer incidents and computer misuse and to be able to contribute to the development of related disciplines by research solutions.

The programme aims to develop the skills required to handle successfully the opportunities and challenges present in today’s international business environment. This course is designed to help students develop a critical awareness of strategies, policies and processes for sustainable management in the Oil & Gas industry. The MSc in Psychology has a strong emphasis on psychological investigation and exploring ethical issues. The primary goal of psychology as a discipline is to contribute to the scientific understanding of mind, brain, behaviour, and experience and of the complex interactions between these. The programme will develop knowledge and understanding of scientific endeavour and the role of empirical evidence in the development of theory relating to human behaviour. It will provide an opportunity to develop skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods and an opportunity to conduct research independently. An improvement in population health is increasingly recognized internationally as a key element of economic and social development and nowhere is this more evident than in emerging countries with growing economies. This course provides a broad-based understanding of health and its social and environmental determinants with a curriculum informed by key international strategies, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Social Determinants of Health. The focus of this programme is to facilitate the development of public health practitioners; to enhance their knowledge and skills required for public health practice in their local setting. In addition, to develop a public health mindset and approach which is relevant to their role and country. LMIC’s are increasingly challenged with a double burden of disease; whilst still fighting infectious diseases they are now increasingly faced with the growth in non- communicable diseases (NCD’s). Tackling these burdens require a robust evidence base built on sound research, surveillance and intelligence; policy and strategic approaches based on the evidence; health protection measures and health promotion activities at the community level. This programme will introduce these core areas of public health and enable you to apply them to your setting.

Law is taught from a range of perspectives, based on the finest traditions of legal education and recent innovations for the 21st century. Our approach is to examine law well beyond basic legal rules and legal institutions, taking account of wider contexts and discourses that allow deeper understanding of law in society. With this approach, the University of Suffolk provides students with a firm grounding in the subject of law and the contexts in which law functions. The following press release from The Nation newspaper from October 2018 summarizes a major problem faced by the government of Malawi in its quest for development of the oil and gas sector. It is clear that a lack of trained manpower in the sector is crippling efforts to kick-start the industry.
Despite government promising to support the growth of the mining sector to become one of the main foreign exchange earners, the department tasked to look after the oil and gas sector seems to have no capacity and resources to perform, according to a recent report…
The report says technical officers at the Department of Mines do not have continuous trainings to ensure independent and competent analysis when conducting field verification visits where oil and gas companies are operating…
The report has recommended a review of the oil and gas division to allow all technical officers to access relevant training and capacity building programmes (Chirambo, 2018).

There is a strong desire for certificate and diploma level accountants to upgrade to degree level as a stepping stone to becoming a Chartered Accountant. This online programme may appeal especially to those potential students who are working and already have experience of accounting and financial management, but do not wish to give up employment to undertake full-time studies. In this way the BSc in Accounting programme, offered by Unicaf University, expands access to students to enable more trained accountants to graduate. Aim of the Programme

The aim of the Bachelor of Science in Accounting is to prepare students for entry into a variety of fields in accountancy, including corporate accounting, accounting information systems, and governmental accounting. Graduates will gain detailed knowledge of financial accounting and financial reporting.

Nature of the programme

The programme is an online programme composed of 8 taught modules of 25 credits each, of which five are core modules and three are elective modules relating to a specialist stream, culminating in a research based dissertation of 40 credits.  The modules may be taken continuously on a full-time basis or spread over a longer period on a part-time basis, depending on the circumstances and needs of the student. Each taught module lasts for seven weeks and the material is available online 24 hours per day, seven days per week during that period. The student may opt to supplement the online taught modules during this period with face-to-face tutorials in a blended approach. These information technology aspects are incorporated into the Unicaf University BSc programme so that students have a well-rounded technical skill set for their future career development.

The Unicaf University Malawi PhD in Information Technology is an integrated programme awarded on the basis of a research dissertation (240 credits) and also incorporates a preparatory taught element (120 credits) that provides students with the necessary tools to undertake their research, appreciate current research issues in the field of Information Technology, and assume future leadership roles in their respective institutions. The sector of Public Health has undergone a significant transformation over the last five decades. The 1990s, particularly, was a decade of great change and also a period during which the importance of Public Health got the special attention of many stakeholders worldwide.

A PhD in Public Health is deemed essential, not only for Zambia but worldwide, as it enables its graduates to ensure alertness, prevention and efficient response to disease transmission and outbreaks (pandemics) as well as support disease surveillance.
